廈門大學由著名愛國華僑領袖陳嘉庚先生于1921年創(chuàng)辦，是國家“211工程”和“985工程”重點建設的高水平大學，入選國家“世界一流大學”A類建設高校，有2個牽頭建設的協同創(chuàng)新中心獲得國家“2011計劃”認定，自然指數穩(wěn)居全國高校前列，15個學科進入ESI前1%，成為全國首批20所學位授權自主審核單位之一。

廈庇五洲客，門納萬頃濤。2019年，還是在這個春暖花開的四月，廈門大學用更開放的胸懷，誠摯邀請海內外優(yōu)秀青年學者集聚風景秀麗、氣候怡人的海上花園城市廈門。
一、論壇安排
廈門大學定于2019年4月10-12日在廈門舉辦“南強青年學者論壇”，設置1個主論壇及多個分學科論壇。
4月10日全天報到；
4月11日上午開幕式；
4月11日下午分論壇學術報告；
4月12日全天分論壇學術報告、座談交流。
二、申請條件
1.具有良好的思想政治素質和品德學風；
2.具有博士學位，自然科學、工程技術領域申請人年齡不超過40周歲，人文社會科學領域申請人年齡不超過45周歲；
3.具有突出的創(chuàng)新能力和發(fā)展?jié)摿Γ谒鶑氖卵芯康膶W術領域嶄露頭角，為同齡人中的拔尖人才。
三、申請方式
1．請于2019年3月1日前，使用網上報名系統（網址：http://xiamenuniversity.mikecrm.com/OQLEQXx）注冊并填寫相關信息。
2．學校對申請人進行資格審核后，于2019年3月15日前通過郵件向審核通過人員發(fā)送邀請函。
四、會議資助
學校統一安排食宿并報銷往返差旅費（海外學者每人不超過1.2萬元人民幣，國內學者每人不超過5000元人民幣）。

Notice of the 2019 XMU Nanqiang Young Scholars Forum
Xiamen University (XMU) was founded by the patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1921. XMU is a high-standard university on the State’s “211 Project” and “985 Project”, included into the State’s list of Category A institutions for building world-class universities. Two collaborative innovation centers established by XMU in partnership with other universities have been accredited for inclusion into the State’s “2011 Program”. XMU is in the top ranks of Chinese universities in terms of the Nature index and is ranked by ESI among the global top 1% in 15 subjects. Moreover, XMU was one of China’s first 20 universities with government-granted autonomy in conferring academic degrees.
Upon its inception, XMU set building a “global university” as its goal and embarked on a relentless quest for scholastic excellence. Its enduring heritage and proud traditions inspire its faculty and students to strive for excellence. I. Forum Program
The Nanqiang Young Scholars Forum will take place from April 10 through April 12, 2019on the XMU campus. The forum will consist of one main forum and multiple discipline-specific sub-forums.
April 10: Participant arrivals
April 11 (AM): Opening ceremony
April 11 (PM): Academic symposia on the sub-forums
April 12: Academic symposia and colloquia on the sub-forums
II. Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicants should hold themselves to the highest standard of personal and academic integrity.
2. Applicants should hold a PhD degree in natural sciences or engineering and be no more than 40 years of age, or hold a PhD degree in the humanities or social sciences and be no more than 45 years of age.
3. Applicants should have the potential to establish themselves as the leaders in their chosen research areas and should have demonstrated their ability to conduct innovative research and to contribute to the academic leadership of XMU.
III. Application
1. Applicants should register through XMU’s online registration system athttp://xiamenuniversity.mikecrm.com/OQLEQXx before March 1, 2019.
2. XMU will review applicants’ eligibility and issue invitations to successful applicants by email before March 15, 2019.
IV. Participation Subsidies
XMU will provide food and accommodation for all invited participants and reimburse participants for the expenses of travel to and from Xiamen (up to RMB 12,000 and RMB 5,000 per person for scholars from abroad and at home, respectively).
