Description
The Statistics division at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, has opened a new research group led by Prof Maurizio Filippone, who is seeking to appoint Postdoctoral Researchers to work on research problems at the interface between a selection of the following areas:
- Bayesian inference for deep learning - Generative modeling - Computational statistics, statistical learning, and deep learning - Applications in environmental and life sciences

Successful candidates will be expected to conduct and present high-quality research, publish papers, and help with PhD student mentoring.

Details :
- Start date: as soon as possible. Selection for positions will start immediately and continue until positions are filled. - Appointments are for up to three years (subject to a review after the first year).
Qualifications
- Completion or near completion of a doctoral degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or related disciplines - High proficiency in programming with languages such as: Python, R or C/C - A strong publication record in competitive peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings - Excellent written and oral communication skills, and effective team-work skills - We are looking for highly self-motivated candidates who are curious and enthusiastic about scientific research, and have a proactive attitude - Experience with environmental and life science applications are desirable
