Two two-year postdoctoral positions are opening at the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), Shanghai. The positions will start on January 1st 2024 for a duration of 2 years.
Project Details
At ECUST, the Guerin laboratory is dedicated to synthesizing new coil-crystalline block copolymers using ring opening polymerization, control radical polymerization and click reactions, to prepare nano- and meso-structures by crystallization-driven self-assembly in solution (CDSA). CDSA of coil-crystalline BCPs in solution has proven to be an excellent tool for the preparation of well-defined sophisticated 1, 2 and 3 dimensional nanostructures with tunable dimensions, which is an essential requirement for the fabrication of nano-machines with potential applications in biomedicine.
The research will focus on the synthesis of crystalline monomers, their polymerization and their applications in crystallization-driven self-assembly.
A Ph.D. in chemistry or related field is required.
Essential qualifications include a strong experimental capability in organic and polymer synthesis. Experience in polymer physics and polymer self-assembly is a plus.
The successful candidates will have demonstrated excellent communication and leadership. They will take a leading role in a NSFC funded project focused on the synthesis and self-assembly of coil-crystalline block copolymers. They will collaborate with researchers at East China University of Science and Technology, and other Universities. They will serve as mentors to graduate and undergraduate researchers.
They will also present and report research results, as well as publish scientific results in peer- reviewed journals in a timely manner, and maintain strong commitment to ethical work practices.
Salary : minimum 210 000 RMB per year
