University of Leeds
Description
This post is funded from a senior fellowship grant awarded to Associate Professor Dr Sinisa Savic. The aim of the fellowship is to investigate the role of post-zygotic, somatic mutations in the pathogenesis of various immune mediated inflammatory diseases and their influence on response to treatment. There are already well-established collaborations, locally, nationally and internationally to ensure that post holder will have access to rich, unique, and well-defined patient cohorts. Furthermore, there are established links with NIHR-BioResource, Leeds NIHR Biomedical centre and UK Biobank. The post holder will be working closely with another PDFR, two PhD students and two clinical fellows to deliver objectives of this project. The post holder will be expected to develop functional assays to validate novel genetic findings from the project. Previous experience in immunology, CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing methodology and manipulation of human inducible pluripotent stem cells to develop various cell linages is desirable. This role will be based at St James's University campus.
