Łukasiewicz Research Network – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development is a Research Institute within the Łukasiewicz Research Network. It focuses on development of new technologies, resulting from basic and applied research, which, in turn, serve as a basis for innovative solutions for the industry. With high-class specialists and state-of-art infrastructure, we provide capacity for the most advanced research. Our Institute consists of three research centers - Life Sciences & Biotechnology Center, Materials Science & Engineering Center and Center for Population Diagnostics, with access to specialized core laboratories - a combination, which allows to carry out both, scientific research and pilot studies for the industry in a comprehensive manner.

Post-Doc Research Engineer in Organic/Polymer Chemistry

(Functional Macromolecules Research Team)

Interested in research projects that aim to push the boundaries of polymer science? In Functional Macromolecules Lab, we investigate sequence-defined polymers towards new applications in complex materials. 1 We take an advantage of monomer sequence programmability to induce functions into synthetic macromolecules. Our current goal is to develop polymer materials that can be used for selective sensing of bioactive water contaminants. The problem of water pollution with bioactive compounds has been growing in the last few years due to the increasing consumption of drugs in developed societies and the pollution of the environment with plastics. Providing tools for efficient water quality control will allow for the widespread introduction of monitoring programs and enhance water purification processes.

Qualifications

A PhD degree in Chemistry or related and interest in organic/polymer chemistry

Proficiency in English

Experience in organic preparative synthesis, chromatography (HPLC, Flash) and spectroscopy (NMR, FTIR, CD, UV-vis, Fluorescence)

Pleasure in experimental work

High level of creativity and strong problem solving skills

Excellent team player skills

Additional requirements:

A member of a research team must be a under 35 years of age according to the regulations of The National Centre for Research and Development for the Lider XII project, details: https: // www. gov.pl/web/ncbr/lider-xii-edycja

• To implement research tasks on development of sequence-defined polymers for sensing within scope of PolySens project
