We are seeking a Postdoctoral Neuroscientist to join the Dupret Group based at the MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit (MRC BNDU), University of Oxford. The Group has a strong track record in studying the network physiology of the hippocampus region in the mammalian brain. Notably, the Group uses transdisciplinary approaches to study both the cellular substrates (cell types and pathways) and the network operations that underlie activity dynamics in memory circuits, employing innovative techniques to monitor and manipulate neurons and to determine their influence on behaviour.
This Postdoctoral Neuroscientist will perform state-of-the-art computational analyses to report on a combination of in vivo network electrophysiological and behavioural experiments, as part of a research programme that is designed to study network dynamics of memory circuits. This post offers exciting opportunities for creative neuroscientists who enjoy collaborative, multidisciplinary work.
It is essential that the successful candidate has a PhD or MD or equivalent qualification in a relevant area of biological research. The qualification can be held or be nearing completion by the time of starting the post. It is also essential that the postholder has experience in quantitative in vivo electrophysiological methods, including multichannel ensemble recordings and calcium imaging, as applied to the scientific investigation of the nervous system. It is also vital that they have experience in advanced computational analyses and interpretation of electrophysiological data.
The post is full-time for a fixed-term of 48 months in the first instance.
