Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Regional Nutrients Flow Optimisation

Description
We are seeking a full-time PDRA to join the systems engineering group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by the Natural and Environmental Research Council (NERC) and is fixed-term for 12 months, expected to start in June 2022.
You will join an interdisciplinary research project is to explore the potential of integrated nutrient flow management at the regional scale for environmental and socio- economic benefits. The project, to be executed in an intense mode for rapid delivery of results, is part of the Agile Initiative hosted by Oxford Martin School.
You will be responsible for carrying out mathematical modelling and optimal design of nutrients (such as N and P) recovery and utilization within a regional economy.
You should possess a PhD (or close to completion) in chemical or environmental engineering (or a related subject area) with experience in developing and solving mathematical optimization models. You will benefit from knowledge of nutrients recovery from waste streams and supply chain management. You should be able to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.
