Postdoctoral Appointee in Medical & Molecular Genetics
Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. NuriaMorral, in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics, and Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases, Indiana University School of Medicine. The successful candidate will join a NIH-funded research group studying epigenetic mechanisms of transcription regulation. Specifically, the lab is studying how nutrients influence chromatin dynamics and key stages of the transcription cycle. These mechanisms are disrupted under conditions of overnutrition, contributing to insulin resistance and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The selected candidate will join a team working with mouse models of NAFLD and type 2 diabetes, and a variety of biochemical and molecular biology assays (immunoblots, qPCR, primary cell culture, cloning, virus-mediated gene transfer, …).
