Position Overview
Essential Job Duties
Coordinate studies involving cognitive testing in dogs with chronic (arthritic) pain. Responsible for case recruitment as needed, and obtaining all outcome data. Also responsible for analysis and presentation of the data.
Duties and Responsibilities
The postdoctoral research fellow will be responsible for data acquisition and optimization on cognition, sensation, pain as well as blood and MRI biomarkers (as needed) and questionnaires.
Other Work/Responsibilities
Incumbent will be responsible for compiling the data, presenting their results, and writing scientific manuscripts describing their findings.
Requirements and Preferences
Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; some weekends
Department Required Skills
Computer use, familiarity with MS word, excel, powerpoint. Basic statistical analysis, and experience in managing dogs.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
DVM preferred; experience in behavioral research and/or pain research involving dog preferred; publication record preferred.
Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment.
