Job Description

The Integrative Physiology section at The Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports, University of Copenhagen is seeking an expert in human vascular and exercise physiology, with focus on cellular and molecular mechanisms, for a full time Post-Doc position for a period of two years.

The candidate is expected to participate in the ongoing research of The Cardiovascular group concerning mechanisms underlying lifestyle related changes in vascular function and the influence of exercise training. Hereunder, the candidate will participate in a large research project focused on the influence of Type II diabetes and exercise training on muscle microvascular function in humans. The project involves advanced studies in vivo but a main focus of the project will also be on isolation and experiments with primary vascular cell cultures. The post may also include student supervision, teaching and other duties.

Qualifications The applicant should hold a Master and PhD degree in a relevant field where focus within the cardiovascular field is favorable. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in executing human intervention studies, cell- culture studies and molecular analysis. The successful applicant should have an excellent ability to collaborate with technical staff and other members of the research group and should also demonstrate a high level of independency and productivity.

Terms of employment The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff. Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State. The starting salary is currently up to DKK 437.843 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 74.871). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
