Fluorescence probes for characterizing properties of native hydrogels on living cells (bioorg. chemistry, biochemistry, biology)
We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated postdoc candidate or experienced researcher interested in research and teaching in the field of bio-organic chemistry and cell biological studies.
The project involves the development of a new method for labeling protein and glycan cell surface molecules with responsive fluorescent dyes for the the determination of properties of the hydrogel layer on healthy and infected lung epithel. This involves cloning and expression of tagged membrane proteins in human cell lines; solid phase peptide synthesis and conjugation chemistry; fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry, as well as tasks for own scientific qualification.
Completed university degree and PhD in the field of bio-organic chemistry, chemical biology or biochemistry; practical experience in chemical synthesis, cell biological studies, protein labelling, fluorescence imaging desirable; very good command of written and spoken English; ability to do interdisciplinary work and transdisciplinary communication. Ideally experiences in one or more of the following fields: Cell studies, peptide synthesis and labelling, fluorescence microscopy, publication.
