Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for NJMS-PHRI Center (https://phri.njms.rutgers.edu).
This position participates in research projects focusing on the antigenic variation of Trypanosoma brucei, the parasite of African sleeping sickness, under the direction of the PI (Dr. Hee-Sook Kim). The position is available starting immediately. An ideal candidate will have training in molecular biology, high-throughput sequencing/bioinformatics, and/or biochemistry (protein purification). Experience working with T. brucei in the area of genetics and biochemistry is an asset. The candidate should have the ability to work individually and as part of a team. The candidate is expected to collect, record and perform data analysis, prepare reports for peer-reviewed scientific publications and conference presentations, and contributes to the writing of IACUC and IBC applications and fellowships/grants.
The Post Doc Fellow reports all research related activities to the PI and is expected to train technicians/fellows in relevant techniques as directed by the PI.
