The research group of Professor John McGuire in the School of Physical Science and Technology is focused on dynamics and interactions in low-dimensional semiconductors and other solid state systems as probed by ultrafast (femtosecond) optical techniques. At present, we invite outstanding young scientists to apply for post-doctoral research position in the group.

1、Independently initiate and execute research projects (from conception to construction of an experimental platform to data acquisition and analysis and publication) consistent with the research directions of the group;
2. Help the PI train, supervise, and guide graduate students;
3. Take responsibility for routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and assist in bureaucratic tasks;
4. Participate in research funding proposals and management.
1、Possessing a Ph.D. in solid state physics, semiconductor optics, femtosecond optics, or related fields; an assistant researcher must have more than two years of postdoctoral research experience in related majors;
2、Demonstrated ability to independently carry out scientific research and publish high-quality papers in international journals in related fields;
3、Able to work as part of a team and taking responsibility for the progress of graduate students while still able to receive and follow through on PI input on research direction and execution;
4、 For a post-doc, not more than 35 years old;
5、 Priority is given to applicants with backgrounds in femtosecond spectroscopy, terahertz spectroscopy, excitonic physics, and spintronics as well as for those with native fluency in written and spoken Chinese.
