Position Summary
The system administrator will set up and maintain servers hosting multiple Drupal installations and have proven experience with working on server level optimization on the AWS platform.
We are looking for a self-starter who is eager to learn, able to meet any challenges head-on, and approaches projects with the end user in mind. The ideal candidate will show initiative in solving problems, and will work well as a member of a team.
The main responsibilities include:
● Server maintenance;
● Server load balancing and optimization;
● Making sure that server security protocols are in place and up to date;
● Maintenance of multi-site infrastructures and deployment of upgrade strategies for multiple sites;
● Sharing back-end Drupal responsibilities;
● Keep abreast of the latest production, development and presentation techniques and technologies related to digital communication;
● Some DevOps and software development support;
● Deploying and managing scalable systems with high availability on AWS;
● Provide support for AWS systems including monitoring and resolution of issues;
● Work with Dev/QA to maintain a fully automated CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, Ansible, Git etc;.
● Maintain and create cloud instances, storage, and other cloud services.
Qualifications
Required Education
● Bachelor’s degree required with relevant major.
Required Experience
● 2+ years prior work experience in AWS systems administration;
● Experience with database management (MySQL, Postgres or Oracle);
● Experience with configuration technology including: Ansible, Docker;
● Experience with web server management;
● Experience in using monitoring tools;
● Working experience with maintenance of content management frameworks on AWS or another cloud platform.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● Expert level server administration (AWS EC2, S3, etc.);
● Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting skills with web technologies such as Apache, NGINX, LAMP stacks, Drupal, Wordpress, layer 7 firewalls, proxies, static content offloading, caching, and CDNs;
● Git source code management;
● DevOps and agile software development;
● Server security protocols and maintenance;
● Excellent written and verbal skills in English.
