Howard Hughes Medical Institute
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Postdoctoral Associate to work in the laboratory of Dr. Benjamin Tu at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
The Tu lab is investigating how fundamental cellular processes are coordinated with metabolism and the metabolic state of the cell. They use the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae for many of their studies to discover fundamental regulatory principles, but are also expanding some of their findings to mammalian systems. Their research has begun to show that small molecule metabolites play very underappreciated roles in the regulation of cell growth and homeostasis. The influence and importance of the metabolic state on cell regulation are far too often overlooked; the lab aims to decipher these very mechanisms. For more information about the Tu lab, please visit https://www.utsouthwestern.edu/labs/tu/
The chosen candidate will work on research projects in the exciting field of epigenetics and metabolism and their links to cancers. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate, focused scientist who would like to actively contribute to answering important questions and be mentored while working alongside other postdocs, grad students, and researchers in a small, highly collaborative laboratory. The chosen candidate will also have access to UT Southwestern’s postdoc training program and be part of a thriving research community. Candidates in their final year of PhD studies who expect to defend in spring/summer 2022 are welcome to apply.
