Summary
The Liu Lab at HHMI Janelia is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to lead projects that investigate gene regulation mechanism in animal development as well as in disease models. The lab uses cutting-edge imaging techniques combined with advanced genomics and genetic perturbations to decode functional links between gene expression, transcription factor dynamics and genome organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Design novel imaging and genomic assays to probe gene regulation in cell culture and in vivo
•Explore and analyze resulting data with data science techniques
Participate in collaborative projects with imaging tool builders and computational researchers
Qualifications
Education
Ph.D. degree in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, neurosciences or related disciplines
Skills and Abilities
Experience with cell biology or mouse genetics
Experience with basic imaging techniques
Optional: Experience with genomic assays (e.g. ChIP-seq, RNA-seq or Hi-C)
Proficiency with data analysis skills
Skills to manage and support interdisciplinary collaborations
Ability to work collaboratively
Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).
