We are looking for a candidates who has experience in different aspects of natural product chemistry using LC-MS, GC-MS and NMR; experience in the isolation and characterisation of natural compounds, and knowledge of the biological activity of natural products. The candidate should also have some botanical knowledge and an understanding of the distribution of natural products in plants.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of plants and fungi and not only further understand the role these compounds play in plants and fungi but how these compounds might impact human health.
They will also have the opportunity to work with both academic and commercial researchers on the development of new leads for use in personal health care.
We are looking for candidates that are interested in using metabolomic techniques that can be linked to genomics, to further our understanding of plant and fungal chemistry.
Based at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in London, you will conduct cutting-edge research on the chemistry and biological activity of plants and fungi. We will consider any applicant with an excellent track record, and strong research proposal, in the general area of plants and/or fungal chemistry.
Salary will be £30,981 – £36,941 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
