The Dawlaty Laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York city is recruiting several motivated postdoctoral fellows with interest and expertise in any of the following areas: (1) Epigenetics of stem cells and development. (2) Chromatin and gene regulation. (3) Disease modeling using pluripotent stem cells. (4) Cancer epigenetics (4) Bioinformatics / systems biology.
Research focus: Our lab investigates the epigenetic mechanisms underpinning the biology of embryonic/pluripotent stem cells, development and cancer. We study how DNA modifying enzymes regulate embryonic stem cell biology, embryonic development and hematologic malignancies. We use stem cells and mice as model systems and combine molecular, cellular, developmental and bioinformatics approaches to establish how chromatin regulators reshape the epigenome and regulate cell fate during development. We also seek to understand how perturbations of these mechanisms contribute to etiology of human disorders and diseases such as cancer.
Lab expertise: The lab specializes in genome engineering methodologies in mouse and human embryonic stem cells and iPSCs and generating complex strains of conditional, inducible, transgenic and knockout mice and stem cell lines to dissect epigenetic pathways/mechanisms and define their implications in development and disease.
Lab website: For more details on our lab and research please visit www.dawlatylaboratory.com or

Application Requirements:
Ph.D. or M.D. or equivalent degree, and a record of publications from prior training.
Prior experience in any of the following relevant areas is highly desired: Developmental Biology, mouse genetics, embryo manipulation, chromatin biology/protein biochemistry, stem cell biology and differentiation. Experience in bioinformatics is preferred.
To apply: Please email your CV and a short cover letter summarizing your experience, along with the contact information of two references to meelad.dawlaty@einstein.yu.edu addressed to Meelad Dawlaty Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Genetics, Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Research, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, NY
Research environment for postdoctoral fellows: At the Albert Einstein College of Medicine ( http://www.einstein.yu.edu/ ) we provide a highly interactive and stimulating academic environment for scientists in training. The prospective recruit will join our group which consists of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and technologists. Lab members will participate and benefit from programs within the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, the Department of Genetics, Einstein Cancer Center and throughout the school. These include weekly journal clubs, work-in-progress seminars, invited talks, workshops as well as social and professional events organized by the Einstein Postdoc office.
Lab Location: We are located in a pleasant residential area in the northeast corner of New York City with an easy commute to Manhattan and the suburbs of Westchester County. We offer competitive salary and benefit packages with optional postdoctoral housing on campus.
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, protected veteran or disabled status, or genetic information.
